Filtration Information:
Genie has been designing and manufacturing application specific air filters for over a quarter century. While we are leaders in the design and manufacture of Toner Filters and Ozone Filters, we produce a broad spectrum of particle and gas filters.
For particulate removal, we offer a variety of traditional materials as well as the latest advancements in media. We are vertically integrated to allow a turnkey package from one source at the lowest price. We can die-cut media, die-cut frames, print or label frames, shear metal, glue, staple, stitch and/or heat seal in one location. Our designs can incorporate plastics, metal, or UL listed flame retardant chipboards.
Recently, we have developed a proprietary combination of the latest technology medias to design filters that rival the performance of pleated filters without the complexity and cost of pleating. Our designs often out-perform "pleat-pack" filters and at a substantially lower cost. Our customers can attest to that!
Our gas filters utilize several different materials. From basic activated carbon bed filters to the newest extruded catalytic materials. We have been designing, manufacturing and supplying gas filters to major copier and printer manufacturers for over twenty five years.
Combination filters that combine particulate removal and gas filtration is another area that can be both performance and cost beneficial. We can combine particle removal medias and gas filtration layers into the same assembly for one-step installation and removal. We will collaborate on testing to determine the appropriate "ratio" of particulate and gas filtration media to design a filter that handles both for a predetermined amount of time or "copies".
For those that are just beginning to contemplate the design of a filter, below are some of the points that need to be evaluated in an effort to optimize the filter design for performance, quality, ease of manufacture, and cost:
Air Volume (CFM)
Air Velocity (fpm)
Initial Pressure Drop (Filter is Clean)
Final Pressure Drop (Filter is Dirty)
Contaminant Type
Contaminant Size or Challenge (ex. 5 micron Size, 3 ppm Ozone Challenge)
Contaminant Distribution (standard deviation)
Required Filter Efficiency (How much of the contaminant needs to be removed?)
Maximum Filter Size
Operating Temperatures (or other environmental issues)
Desired Filter Life
Projected Volumes
Mounting Configuration
Rigid or Flexible Media
Is there a fan performance curve available for fan / blower being used to move air
Target Cost
